Greg and Denny came to visit the ETC the day after soft opening. It was the first time they played the game in person. They played the same build as the faculty did the day prior.
Most important feedback:
1. Videos on notecards: concerning the educational content, Greg asked that we take a deeper dive into our note cards by adding short videos. He also likes that this slightly breaks up the game play and slows them down, but in an engaging way. Denny utilizes videos from a company called the 60 second driver. They provide lots of videos concerning driver’s ed info in a very digestible way. The additional information provided by the videos will also give us more content to pull from for our quiz.
2. Make a map: Our story is just one module in a much larger educational experience. Greg and Denny want to visualize the progress of the player moving through the lessons with a map. As chapters are completed, next chapters are unlocked. This map will help the player conceive of where they have been and how much further they have to go. Also along side the map will be a three-star ranking system. One star means the player scored less than 80% on the quiz, two stars means 80%, and 3 stars means they recieved a 100% on the quiz. The player can unlock the next chapter when they have one star, but can retake the quiz at any time to increase their score for the chapter. The map is also how players will enter into our experience, and where they will go when they are done as well.
3. Programming documentation: For the hand-off, we need to provide our clients with all of the UI information, game Framework, and how to add and remove components. This document will be used by the next programmer of the game.
