Hi everyone!<\/p>\n

Welcome to week 6 of our project.<\/p>\n

We had our quarters last week and we got some really valuable feedback. Following which we had a meeting with our client which eventually led us to make changes to our process, design pillars and goals for the semester.<\/p>\n

During the quarters<\/p>\n

Here is the summary of 1<\/span>\/4<\/span>.<\/p>\n

This week team SmAll went through the quarters, and received a bunch of useful advice from faculty.<\/p>\n

Jesse<\/p>\n

-Play battleship number line and dragon box numbers.<\/p>\n

-No war games.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dave<\/p>\n

-It is better to be specific.<\/p>\n

-Need to make sure how students can learn something about fractions effectively.<\/p>\n

-Play fraud fraction.<\/p>\n

-Build a tutorial level<\/p>\n

-Find a good pedagogy<\/p>\n

-Fix the scripts:<\/p>\n

e.g. I\u2019m bring food to 3 hungry ghosts. First, I\u2019ll find them out\u2026etc.<\/p>\n

-Talking with teachers teaching fractions.<\/p>\n

-An HCI student: Jenny Olsen, experienced in fraction games.<\/p>\n

-Embody learning process to smallab\/body learning\/moving in the space.<\/p>\n

-We should notice what we are making is a practice tool instead of a teaching tool.<\/p>\n

-Customization is important.<\/p>\n

-Test before building<\/p>\n

-Why we are using the floor? Utilize the room.<\/p>\n

-Read the postmortem of the previous smallab team<\/p>\n

These suggestions are so important for us to keep in the right path that I summarize them a little bit.<\/p>\n

Basically, most suggestions are on:<\/p>\n

  1. How to define good pedagogic?<\/li>\n
  2. How to utilize the SMALLab space?<\/li>\n
  3. How to make students practice effectively?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The solutions could be:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Talk with teachers about the learning procedure and teaching method.<\/li>\n
    2. Remember to take fully advantage of the SMALLab room while designing the game.<\/li>\n
    3. Design specific questionnaires and conduct accurate play-tests.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
