{"id":818,"date":"2019-05-10T19:59:18","date_gmt":"2019-05-10T19:59:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects-old.etc.cmu.edu\/one-small-act\/?p=818"},"modified":"2019-05-10T19:59:19","modified_gmt":"2019-05-10T19:59:19","slug":"finals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects-old.etc.cmu.edu\/one-small-act\/index.php\/2019\/05\/10\/finals\/","title":{"rendered":"Finals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Finals<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>And with that&#8230; we&#8217;re done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s been a whirlwind of a semester, and we&#8217;re very happy to say that we&#8217;re finished!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve learned so much this semester:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We learned that kids are smart. Like WAY smarter than adults. (My working theory: biases that we develop as we grow up actually impair some of our basic cognitive functions.)<\/li><li>We learned the difference between designing for an experience vs. a game. Experiences don&#8217;t necessarily need to have a finite beginning or end, and they don&#8217;t have a win state.<\/li><li>We learned to build small components to playtest often.<\/li><li>We learned how to balance client needs with faculty needs. And how to express all of the work that we&#8217;ve done to faculty (I&#8217;ve gotten really good at making slide decks).<\/li><li>AND we learned how to be kind!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope that you&#8217;ve enjoyed following our journey this semester.
