THIS WEEK (2\/11\/13 – 2\/15\/13)<\/h1>\n

Quarters Presentation<\/h2>\n

to the faculty. We expounded on our concept of\u00a0having the guest to our website act as an investigative journalist who is delving into the subject\u00a0of economic inequality in America. We also\u00a0showed examples of what kinds of transmedia we\u00a0have seen that has given us ideas for our\u00a0project, as well as an interactive infographic\u00a0that shows how we want to disseminate our data\u00a0to the user.<\/p>\n

We received mostly positive feedback, with one\u00a0faculty member exclaiming that the aspect of\u00a0investigative journalist role allows the player to\u00a0be fully immersed in the experience of discovering\u00a0the causes and effects of the current level of\u00a0inequality. There were questions of how we\u00a0would get the information across to the guest.\u00a0If we had the actual experts explain the problems\u00a0themselves in the form of a video, it could get\u00a0quite dry and tiresome. Having an actor to bring\u00a0a little panache to discussion would help tremendously.\u00a0Another piece of advice we received was\u00a0to incorporate as many simply designed graphs to\u00a0get our information out to the public. These\u00a0graphs and charts would make our data easy to\u00a0understand and would convey everything we want\u00a0to tell our audience quickly.<\/p>\n

Story Outline<\/h2>\n

Now that we have settled on a concept to pursue, we have gone ahead and started to work on the writing for the project. We are incorporating various infographics into the story, so the journalist will be interacting with them to do his or her research for the piece they will make at the end of the experience.<\/p>\n

Client Meeting<\/h2>\n

On Thursday, we met with our client to hear their ideas on what should be worked on in the experience. Progress\u00a0updates\u00a0were exchanged during the meeting.<\/p>\n

NEXT WEEK (2\/18\/13 – 2\/22\/13)<\/h1>\n

We are going to finalize the script and then\u00a0begin shooting. Our mock-up of the website will\u00a0continue to be constructed so that we will be\u00a0able to playtest in the near-future. We will also\u00a0find footage to make an intro video to the project\u00a0that will address the issues at play in our experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
