{"id":53,"date":"2016-11-24T01:33:38","date_gmt":"2016-11-24T01:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects-old.etc.cmu.edu\/mixar\/?p=53"},"modified":"2016-11-24T01:33:38","modified_gmt":"2016-11-24T01:33:38","slug":"week-13-happy-thanksgiving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects-old.etc.cmu.edu\/mixar\/index.php\/2016\/11\/24\/week-13-happy-thanksgiving\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 13 &#8211; Happy Thanksgiving!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Happy Thanksgiving!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week has been very short, just two days in fact, but we did a rather large playtest so it is certainly worth talking about. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basically, it was an A\/B test featuring our Guide role, which cares about completing the experience, and our Teacher role, which cares about attending to the guest. \u00a0Originally, the second role in the test was the companion, but a small error in our editing tool that was built for the playtest, combined with various members of the team being sick on alternating days made this impossible. \u00a0We had eight testers total, seven who were EA employees, and one a friend of Carl, our advisor and client. \u00a0After they went through the experience, we administered a short survey, and we then asked some follow up questions based on that survey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are a few key notes we observed:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mixy was generally seen as helpful.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mixy was generally seen to give good information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guest\u2019s didn\u2019t feel very connected to Mixy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mixy Didn\u2019t seem to get in the way.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mixy came off as pushy, and not caring of the player.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teacher and Guide were hard to distinguish, possibly because users tend to view the panels in order anyway, and the teacher would revert to trying to get the user to go to the next panel too quickly.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s about all we could write up so far, since the playtest went all day, and everyone had preparations to make for the holiday. \u00a0Next week is Softs, so we are looking forward to reporting on that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adieu,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">~mixAR<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Thanksgiving!
